I can never forget the magnificent Magnolia tree in my childhood garden. I loved the large brilliant white flowers. I still do.

Kaprifol. Honeysuckle flower på engelska. På latin heter den Lonicera caprifolium.. In the language of flowers, honeysuckle is a symbol of friendship, devoted love and true happiness. It is also a climbing plant that is not only a beautiful eye-catcher on the house wall, it also attracts bees and butterflies. And it is hardy. It thrives in both sun and shade. I did this study quickly with colored pencils in my sketchbook. Next time I will draw the honeysuckle in more detail and accuracy, as it so well deserves. Or maybe not …  To be honest, I lack the patience for photorealism. And I am not much for perfect lines either. So, no, it will probably be a bit sketchy and schematic next time too. Just because I think it looks nicer that way. I prefer the sketchy in art, lines and figures created on the fly, shapes that convey emotions, impressions... without pretending to be anything other than simply a deeply personal interpretation of what I am deeply fond of and intensely captured by ...

Rita djur är rätt knepigt

 Jag är en stor djurvän, om man undantar myggor, fästingar och mördarsniglar. Möss och råttor är heller ingen storfavorit i verkligheten ändå är mina ritböcker fulla av dem. Det handlar dels om form och linjer. Det är roligt att rita exempelvis möss. De blir ofta så lustigt personliga på ritblocket. Och så handlar det förstås om mina favoritdjur, som exempelvis höns och katter. Hundar ääääälskar jag men ritar dem sällan. Vet inte varför. De är svårfångade. Så otroligt söta och charmiga i verkligheten. Kanske tycker jag att hundens själ och persona är så enastående att jag inte ens vågar mig på att skildra dem som konstverk/illustration … Här några gulliga djur som jag huvudsakligen tecknat med pennor och kritor.
